Are you ready for a journey to the Emerald City? We're hosting an audition workshop for local young people in S1-S6 in August 2024 💚🌈 This workshop will be very fun, interactive and teach you how to take part in an audition confidently and successfully. We'll be casting our Principal Roles for our Wizard of Oz Panto this winter from these events. The Prinicpal Roles we are double-casting for are: Dorothy Aunty Em Scarecrow TinMan Lion Wizard of Oz Glinda the Good Wicked Witch We ask that you prepare a verse and a chorus of one of the following songs for the audition workshop. I'll Be There for You - The Rembrandts Man I Feel Like a Woman - Shania Twain Hold My Hand - Lady Gaga Double casting means we'll have 2 actors in every role, playing the parts on alternative nights of the performances. We also have many supporting roles to fill and ensemble roles so there are plenty of opportunities to be involved! Important Production Info You must be able to attend one of our audition workshops to be in with an opportunity to be cast in a principal role. If you’re not cast in a principal role, we very much invite you to be a part of our ensemble. Rehearsals will take place in our Pro-Stars Musical Theatre class in our Strathaven Studio on Thursday evenings, from 5:30-8pm. The cost of this class is £65 per month and there is an enrolment fee of £30 when joining Dramalam Performing Arts. We hope and would strongly encourage you to continue your Dramalam journey with us after the production, however if you wish not to continue the class after the pantomime, please give us a month’s notice in writing to admin@dramalamperformingarts.comThere will be one final payment required, as per our T&C’s found here - https://www.dramalamperformingarts.com/terms-and-conditions Production Dates are 5th-8th December 2024, in Strathaven Town Mill Arts and Heritage Centre. We will have a recording studio session on Sunday 10th November and a stage and dress rehearsal on Sunday 1st December. There will also be 3 additional rehearsals per cast, between Saturday 19th October and Sunday 23rd November in our Strathaven Studio. We will work these on a 2 week rotation between the 2 casts. Our principal cast must be available for these dates, which will be confirmed once our casts have been announced. The production cost per student is £75. This covers all of the additional rehearsals, dress rehearsal, recording studio and costume hire. This fee is non-refundable.
